Central America

Central America is a super cool, skinny strip of land that connects North America to South America. It's like a long, green bridge! It has seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.

To the east, you'll find the big, blue Caribbean Sea, and to the west, the giant Pacific Ocean. This place is famous for its incredible nature, with lots of unique plants and animals you can't find anywhere else!

This land is very special because it's right on top of where big pieces of the Earth's crust meet. This means there are lots of volcanoes that sometimes erupt and earthquakes that shake the ground! While this can be a bit scary, it also makes the soil super rich for growing yummy fruits and plants. It's like the Earth is always rumbling and creating new things here.

Long, long ago, before anyone from Europe arrived, many different groups of people called Central America home. They built amazing cities and had their own ways of life. Then, explorers from Spain came and started new towns.

Later, these countries decided they wanted to be independent and make their own rules, which happened over many years, with each country becoming its own nation at different times.

Central America is like a treasure chest of nature! It's home to a special area called a biodiversity hotspot, which means it has more different kinds of plants and animals than almost anywhere else on Earth.
