Nerva–Antonine dynasty

Once upon a time, a special group of Roman emperors ruled for almost 100 years! They were called the Nerva-Antonine dynasty. Think of them like a team of superheroes, each with their own strengths, who took turns leading the mighty Roman Empire. They were known for being fair and making sure everyone in the empire was happy and safe. It was a time of peace and lots of building!

It wasn't always about being born into the royal family! The first emperor, Nerva, was chosen because he was wise and respected. Then, he picked his own successor, Trajan, who was a great general. This started a cool tradition where emperors often chose the best person to follow them, not just their son. It was like picking the smartest kid in class to be the leader of a project!

These emperors were super important because they brought a long period of peace and prosperity to the Roman Empire, called the Pax Romana. This means everyone could travel, trade, and live without too much worry. They built amazing things like roads, aqueducts (water pipes!), and temples that are still around today. They were like the ultimate builders and peacekeepers!

Some of the most famous emperors from this time were Trajan, who expanded the empire to be its biggest ever, and Hadrian, who built a famous wall in Britain to keep invaders out. Marcus Aurelius was also part of this group, and he was known as the 'philosopher emperor' because he loved to think and write about how to be a good person. They were like the rockstars of ancient Rome!
