Meet Young King Muhammad!

Once upon a time, in a land called Granada, there was a young boy named Muhammad IV. He became king when he was only 10 years old! That's like being in 5th grade and suddenly being in charge of everything. His dad, the king before him, was sadly no longer alive. So, Muhammad had to grow up super fast and learn how to be a leader.

Who Was in Charge?

When Muhammad was king, some grown-ups tried to tell him what to do. It was like having lots of teachers all wanting you to do different things at once! Two important people, Muhammad ibn al-Mahruq and Uthman ibn Abi al-Ula, argued a lot. Uthman even found another person to say was king! This made things very tricky for young Muhammad.

Making Friends and Enemies

To help solve his problems, Muhammad asked for help from a king in a faraway land called Morocco. He gave them some of his towns, like Ronda and Marbella, to get soldiers. He also had to deal with Christian kings nearby. Sometimes they were friends and made deals, but sometimes they fought. It was a lot for a young king to handle!

A King's Big Decisions

Even though he was young, Muhammad started making his own big decisions. He made peace with Uthman and sadly, Muhammad ibn al-Mahruq was no longer in charge. He also made his old teacher a very important helper. He was a king who learned and grew, even when things were tough.
