Key Facts
Meet the Amazing Floating Home!
MS The World is like a super-duper big apartment building, but it floats on the ocean! Instead of living in one place, the people who live here get to travel all around the world. It's like a giant cruise ship that's also a neighborhood. Some people live on it all the time, and others visit for a while. It's a very special way to see new places and meet new friends from different countries.
How Does This Giant Ship Work?
This floating home is huge! It's longer than two football fields put together. It has 12 floors, just like a tall building. Inside, there are 165 homes, from cozy studios to bigger apartments. These homes are owned by the people who live there. The ship has a captain and a crew, about 280 people, who help make sure everything runs smoothly, like cooking food and keeping the ship clean and safe.
Adventures to the Very Bottom of the Earth!
MS The World has gone on some incredible adventures! Once, it sailed so far south it broke a world record. It went to a super cold place called Antarctica, where it was the southernmost ship ever! Imagine being in a place so icy and remote. The captain and some of the residents were on board for this amazing journey, seeing sights most people only dream of.
A Home That Keeps Moving!
This ship is always on the move, visiting different countries and amazing places. It's like having a new backyard view every day! Even when the world had to slow down because of a sickness called COVID-19, MS The World eventually started sailing again. It’s a symbol of how people can live and explore, even when things change. It’s a truly unique way to experience life on the sea.
