Meet the King of the Mountains!

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain on our whole planet! It's like a super-duper tall skyscraper, but made of rock and ice. It sits right on the border between two countries, Nepal and China. Its top is so high, it's like being in an airplane, way above the clouds! It's so big, it has two special names: Sagarmāthā in Nepal and Qomolangma in Tibet.

Climbing to the Clouds!

Lots of brave people want to climb Everest, but it's super hard! They start from camps that are already higher than most mountains. To climb all the way from the sea, it would be like climbing up and down a super long staircase that goes up for miles! Even though it looks smooth, there are tricky parts like slippery ice and strong winds that make it dangerous.

Who Dared to Climb First?

For a long time, people wondered if anyone could reach the very top. In 1953, two amazing climbers named Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary were the first to officially make it all the way up! Before them, other explorers tried and got very high, but they never quite made it to the very peak. It took a lot of courage and planning to be the first!

Why Everest is So Special

Mount Everest is special because it's the highest point on Earth! It makes us think about how amazing our planet is. It's a place for incredible adventures and shows how strong and determined people can be. Even though it's dangerous, it inspires people to explore and push their limits, like reaching for the stars!
