The Boy Who Became a King!
Imagine being born a prince and then becoming a king! That's what happened to Mithridates VI Eupator. He was born a long, long time ago, around the year 134 BCE, in a place called Pontus, which is now part of Turkey.
When he grew up, he became the king of this land. He was a very determined person, and he wanted to make his kingdom strong and safe from his enemies. He was a skilled rider and a great hunter, which helped him become a strong leader.
A Kingdom Full of Trouble!
Mithridates' kingdom was in a tricky spot, right next to a very powerful neighbor called Rome. The Romans wanted to control more land, and they saw Pontus as a place they could take. But Mithridates wasn't going to let that happen easily!
