Minneapolis–Saint Paul

Minneapolis and Saint Paul are two super cool cities in a place called Minnesota. They are so close, people call them the 'Twin Cities'! Minneapolis is like a big playground with lots of lakes, and Saint Paul is like a cozy neighborhood with pretty old houses. They sit near three important rivers that meet up, like a watery handshake!

These cities are special because they are built near where three rivers come together: the Mississippi, the Minnesota, and the St. Croix. Think of it like three friends meeting for a playdate! Minneapolis has a busy downtown with tall buildings, while Saint Paul has lots of trees and charming old homes. Both have hills and streams, making them beautiful places to explore.

Lots of different people have called these cities home for a very long time! First, the Ojibwe and Dakota people lived there. Later, people from places like Scandinavia, Ireland, and Germany came to live. Today, people from all over the world, like Mexico, Somalia, and Vietnam, also live there, making it a vibrant and exciting place with many different cultures!

The whole area around Minneapolis and Saint Paul is HUGE! It's home to over 3.6 million people, which is like filling up a giant stadium many, many times over! It's one of the biggest city areas in the whole United States, and it's the third-biggest in the Midwest. That means lots of people, lots of houses, and lots of fun things to do!
