London Borough of Newham

Imagine a big, busy part of London called Newham! It's like a giant playground east of the famous City of London. It's north of a very big river called the River Thames.

On one side, a river called the River Lea acts like a watery fence, and on the other side, a big road called the North Circular Road marks its edge. It's a place full of exciting neighborhoods like Stratford and East Ham, where lots of fun things happen!

Newham is home to a HUGE number of people, more than 387,000! That's like filling up a giant stadium with people over and over again. It's one of the most crowded places in all of London. All these people make Newham a really lively and interesting place, with lots of different families and friends living together.

Guess what? Newham was a super star during the 2012 Summer Olympics! Most of the amazing Olympic Park, where athletes competed, was built right here. You can even see the London Stadium, where incredible sports moments happened. Plus, Newham has its own airport, London City Airport, where planes take off and land all the time!
