List of Pharaohs

Imagine a super-important king who ruled a whole country a super long time ago. That was a pharaoh! They were like the presidents and queens of ancient Egypt, but even more special. They were believed to be like gods on Earth. Pharaohs wore fancy crowns and special clothes to show everyone they were in charge. They lived in amazing palaces and had lots of people working for them.

The pharaohs started ruling Egypt a super, super long time ago, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born! It was around 3100 BC, which is like, over 5,000 years ago. That's older than any school you've ever been to! They ruled for a very, very long time, for about 2,500 years. That's longer than you've been alive, and longer than your parents have been alive, many, many times over!

Pharaohs were busy bees! They made sure everyone followed the rules and that the country was safe. They also built incredible things, like giant pyramids and huge temples that still stand today. These buildings were so big, they were like taller than a playground slide, but way, way bigger! They also had special names and titles, like having a secret code to show how important they were.

There were many pharaohs, but some are super famous! One was Narmer, who helped unite Egypt. Later, rulers like Tutankhamun (King Tut!) became very well-known. Even people from other countries, like the Romans, sometimes called themselves pharaohs when they ruled Egypt. It shows how special the title was, like being the captain of the best team ever!
