Kingdom of Romania

A long, long time ago, Romania wasn't just one country. It was like two friends, Moldavia and Wallachia, who decided to join forces and be ruled by the same prince. This was called 'The Little Union'. Later, they officially became a kingdom in 1881, with a king named Carol I. Think of it like a big team forming its own special club with a leader!

Romania wanted to be its own boss, so it fought a war to become independent from a big empire called the Ottoman Empire. After winning, they got a bit of new land, but also had to give some away. Later, after a huge war called World War I, Romania grew much bigger, adding new places like Transylvania. This bigger Romania was called 'Greater Romania'!

Sometimes, kings made the rules all by themselves, like an absolute ruler. Other times, they had to listen to the people's representatives. During World War II, Romania was on the wrong side and had to switch alliances. This led to a big change where the king became a figurehead, and eventually, the monarchy ended in 1947, and Romania became a republic.

The Kingdom of Romania was a place with kings and queens, but also a parliament where people's voices could be heard. It changed a lot over the years, sometimes growing bigger and sometimes facing tough times.
