Who Was King Jeongjo?
Imagine a king who was super smart and loved to read! That was Jeongjo, who ruled Korea a long, long time ago, from 1776 to 1800. He was born in Hanyang (which is now called Seoul) and became king when he was only 24 years old. He was like a superhero king, always thinking about how to help his people and make his country stronger. He even wrote books himself!
A King Who Loved Learning!
Jeongjo was really special because he believed that learning was super important. He built a huge library called the Royal Library, where he kept thousands of books. He loved to read and learn new things, and he wanted everyone in his kingdom to have a chance to learn too.
He made sure that even people who weren't rich could get a good education. He was like the principal of a giant school for his whole country!
