Joseon: A Kingdom of Kings and Clever Ideas!

Joseon was a super long-lasting kingdom in Korea, like a really big family that stayed together for hundreds of years! It started way back in 1392 and lasted until 1897. That's longer than your grandparents' grandparents' grandparents have been alive!

Kings and queens were in charge, and they made lots of important decisions for their people. They loved learning and created many new things that helped everyone.

The Joseon kingdom began when a brave general named Yi Seong-gye decided to start a new dynasty. He wanted to make Korea a better place. He moved the capital city to Hanyang, which is now called Seoul. This city became the heart of the kingdom, with grand palaces and busy streets. For over 500 years, different kings from the same family ruled, making sure their kingdom was strong and fair.

The people of Joseon were super smart! They invented the first rain gauge, which helped farmers know when to water their crops. They also created a special clock that told time using water! Imagine a clock that ticks with dripping water. They even invented a printing press that could make lots of books really fast. These inventions helped Korea become a very advanced place.

Even though Joseon isn't a kingdom anymore, its ideas and buildings are still around. The palaces they built are like giant, beautiful museums you can visit. The Korean alphabet, called Hangeul, was invented during Joseon times and is used by millions of people today.
