The House of Bourbon is like a super old and important family that used to rule France and Spain! It all started a super long time ago, way back in 1272. A young prince named Robert married a lady who owned a place called Bourbon.
This family grew and grew, and eventually, some of them became kings and queens! They were like the VIPs of France for many years, living in fancy castles and making big decisions.

One of the most famous Bourbons was King Henry IV. He became king of France in 1589. He was so important that he united parts of France and even a place called Navarre.
His family kept ruling France for a very long time, until a big change called the French Revolution. Later, another branch of the Bourbon family became the kings and queens of Spain. So, this one family tree spread out to rule different countries!
