Germany Becomes One Big Happy Family Again!

Once upon a time, Germany was like a toy that got broken into two pieces. One piece was called West Germany, and the other was East Germany. They were like siblings who lived in different houses for a very long time, almost 45 years!

Then, in 1990, they decided to become one country again. It was like finally putting the broken toy back together, making Germany whole once more. This amazing event is called German reunification.

After a big, sad war called World War II, the world decided to split Germany into two parts. The part called East Germany was run by a different kind of government, and people couldn't easily travel between the two sides. There was even a giant wall, the Berlin Wall, that separated families and friends for years.

It was a very long time, longer than you've been alive! This wall was like a fence that kept the two Germanys apart.

The most exciting part was when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. People were so happy they could finally see their loved ones on the other side! It was like a giant party where everyone cheered. This big change led to the two Germanys officially becoming one country the next year. It was a moment of huge celebration and joy for everyone in Germany.

Becoming one country again meant that West Germany and East Germany had to learn to live and work together. They had to share things and make sure everyone had what they needed. It was like two different classrooms joining together to become one big school.

Even though it took time, Germany became a stronger and united country. It showed the world that even after being apart, people can come together.
