Cheaha Mountain

Imagine a giant reaching for the sky! That's Cheaha Mountain, the highest natural spot in all of Alabama. It's not a super pointy mountain like you see in cartoons, but more like a big, rounded hill.

Cheaha Mountain is super tall! It's 2,407 feet high. That's taller than about 240 school buses stacked on top of each other! From the very top, you can see for miles and miles, like looking out of an airplane window. On a clear day, you can even see into the next state, Georgia! It's so high that the closest taller spot is far, far away, over 100 miles away in Georgia.

When you get to the top of Cheaha Mountain, it's like being on a big, rocky plateau. There are lots of trees, but also some open areas where you can see the amazing views. The weather can change quickly up there, so it might be sunny one minute and a little cloudy the next.

It's a special place where nature is the boss, and it’s been this way for a very, very long time. It’s a perfect spot for picnics and enjoying the fresh air!
