Key Facts
Meet Caesarion, the Little Caesar!
Caesarion was a very special boy born a long, long time ago. His mom was Cleopatra, the famous queen of Egypt, and his dad was Julius Caesar, a super-powerful leader from Rome. Caesarion means 'Little Caesar' because he was like a mini-version of his famous dad! He was the last pharaoh, which means he was the last king of ancient Egypt, a land with kings and queens for over 3,000 years!
A Royal Family Tree
Caesarion's family was like a real-life adventure story! His mom, Cleopatra, was a queen who ruled Egypt. His dad, Julius Caesar, was a Roman general who became very important. Caesarion was their son, and he was named after his dad. He was the only child that Julius Caesar was known to have with Cleopatra. This made Caesarion a prince of both Egypt and Rome, in a way!
King for a Little While!
When Caesarion grew up a bit, he became a pharaoh, just like his mom! He ruled Egypt with Cleopatra. But things got a little tricky. After his mom and dad were gone, a new Roman leader named Octavian came to Egypt. Octavian was very powerful and wanted to be in charge. Caesarion tried to hide, but sadly, Octavian found him and he was no longer pharaoh.
The End of an Era
Caesarion was the very last pharaoh of Egypt. This means that after him, there were no more kings or queens of Egypt for a super long time. It was like the end of a very long chapter in a history book. His story is important because it shows us the end of ancient Egypt's long line of rulers, which had been going on for thousands of years!
