Meet the World's Tallest Waterfall!

Angel Falls is like a giant watery slide from the top of a huge, flat-topped mountain called Auyán-tepui. It's the tallest waterfall in the whole world! The water drops down a super long way, 979 meters, which is taller than three Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other!

It's so tall that sometimes the water turns into mist before it even reaches the bottom. It's located in a beautiful place called Canaima National Park in Venezuela.

A River's Amazing Journey

This amazing waterfall is part of a river system that flows through Venezuela. The water starts high up on the mountain and then plunges down. It's part of the Río Kerepacupai Merú river, which then joins other rivers like the Churún River and the Carrao River.

These rivers are all on their way to join the giant Orinoco River, one of the biggest rivers in South America. It's a long and exciting journey for the water!

Discovering the Giant!

The waterfall was named after an American pilot named Jimmie Angel. He was flying his plane over the area in 1933 and spotted the incredible falls. He even tried to land his plane on top of the mountain, but it got stuck!

Later, in 1937, he landed there again with his wife and some friends. Even though people knew about it before, Jimmie Angel is famous for bringing this amazing natural wonder to the world's attention.

Why Angel Falls is Super Special

Angel Falls is special because it's the tallest uninterrupted waterfall on Earth. This means the water falls in one long drop without stopping. It's a breathtaking sight and a very important part of Venezuela's nature. It's located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means it's a place that the whole world agrees is important to protect because of its natural beauty and unique features.
