American Revolution

Once upon a time, America was ruled by a faraway king in Great Britain. But the people living in America felt it wasn't fair. They had to pay lots of taxes, like money for stamps and tea, but they didn't get to help make the rules! So, they decided they wanted to be in charge of themselves and make their own country. This big disagreement turned into a war!

There were two main sides. One side was the British army, with their fancy red coats. They were very strong and had a big navy. The other side was the American colonists, who were like regular people who wanted to be free. They had brave leaders like George Washington, who became their first president. They also had help from other countries like France!

This exciting time happened a long, long time ago, from 1775 to 1783. That's longer than you've been alive, and even longer than your parents have been alive! The war started with battles like Lexington and Concord. It ended with the Americans winning and signing a special paper called the Declaration of Independence, saying they were a new nation.

The American Revolution is super important because it created the United States of America! It showed that people could stand up for what they believe in and create their own government. The ideas from this time, like freedom and fairness, are still important for countries all over the world. It’s like the birthday of the USA!
