Ahmed al-Sharaa

Imagine a leader who was once a rebel fighter! Ahmed al-Sharaa is a Syrian politician who became the president of his country. He was born a long time ago, in 1982, in a city called Riyadh. He grew up in Syria, a country with a long and interesting story. He's known by another name too, Abu Mohammad al-Julani. He has played a big part in Syria's recent history.

Ahmed al-Sharaa used to be a rebel commander. This means he led groups of people who were fighting. He even spent time in prison for a few years! When he got out, Syria was going through a big revolution. He helped start a group called the al-Nusra Front to try and change the country. He was very determined and built a strong base in a place called Idlib.

Ahmed al-Sharaa then helped create a new organization called Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). This group ran a government in the areas they controlled, collecting taxes and providing services, like a school or a library! In 2024, his forces made quick progress, and he became the leader of Syria. He is now working to rebuild the country and help people return home.

As president, Ahmed al-Sharaa is focused on making Syria strong again. He wants to fix buildings, help the economy, and make sure everyone feels safe, including different groups of people. He even signed an agreement to help different military groups work together. He was even named one of the most influential people in the world in 2025!
