Damascus is a super old city in a country called Syria. Think of Syria as a big country in the Middle East, like a puzzle piece on a map. Damascus is right in the middle of Syria, like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae!
It sits near some mountains, and a river called the Barada flows through it, giving people water to drink and plants to grow. The weather there is usually warm and sunny, perfect for playing outside!
