Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib

Abbas was a wealthy businessman who loved to help people. He lived a long, long time ago, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born. He was a very important person in his community and played a big role in the early days of Islam, helping to keep Prophet Muhammad safe when things were tough.

When Prophet Muhammad was starting to share his message, some people didn't like it. It was a bit like being the new kid at school and some kids being mean. Abbas, even though he wasn't a follower yet, was a strong and respected man.

He used his influence to protect his nephew. Think of him like a superhero bodyguard, standing strong and making sure Prophet Muhammad was safe from harm. This shows how family can be there for each other, even when things are difficult.

After a big event called the Battle of Badr, Abbas decided to become a follower of Prophet Muhammad. This was a really big step for him! It meant he believed in the same message and wanted to help spread it.

Being a follower meant he could now actively help Prophet Muhammad and the other Muslims. He was a wealthy merchant, so he used his riches and his smarts to support the growing community. It’s like joining your favorite sports team and then becoming its captain!

Abbas had a very important family. His children and their children were so influential that they ended up starting a whole dynasty! A dynasty is like a long line of kings and queens from the same family.
