A Secret Plan Between Friends!

Once upon a time, long, long ago, in 1807, two big countries named France and Persia decided to become super-friends. They met at a fancy place called Finckenstein Palace to make a special agreement, like a secret club handshake. This agreement was called the Treaty of Finckenstein.

It was like saying, 'We've got your back!' France promised to help Persia get back some lands that were taken away, like getting your favorite toy back from a bully. They even promised to send weapons and helpers!

What Did They Promise Each Other?

France, led by a famous leader named Napoleon, said they would help Persia get back places like Georgia and parts of the Caucasus mountains. Persia, on the other hand, promised to be France's friend against another country, the United Kingdom. Persia had to tell all the British people to leave and keep a path open for France if they wanted to attack faraway places owned by the United Kingdom.

It was a big deal, like agreeing to share your lunch snacks with your best friend every day!

Did the Plan Work Out?

Sadly, this secret handshake didn't last very long. Even though they signed the treaty, France didn't really help Persia much. And guess what? Just two months later, France made a new deal with another country called Russia, and kind of forgot all about Persia! It was like promising to play tag but then deciding to play hide-and-seek with someone else instead. Persia was left feeling a bit alone.

The United Kingdom Steps In!

Because France didn't keep its promises, Persia ended up in a tricky spot. Then, the United Kingdom, the country France wanted to keep Persia away from, made its own deal with Persia in 1809. This new agreement was so strong that it made France leave Persia completely!

So, the big plan that started with a secret handshake ended up with France going home and the United Kingdom becoming Persia's new friend. It shows how important it is to keep your promises!
