Todd Beamer

Imagine a regular person, like your dad or a teacher, who was on a plane. That was Todd Beamer! He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 93 on a very sad day in 2001. He was on his way to a business meeting. Todd was known for being kind and having a great sense of humor. He loved his family very much and was a good friend to many.

On September 11, 2001, something terrible happened. Some people on Todd's plane, Flight 93, were hijackers who wanted to do bad things. But Todd and the other brave passengers didn't want that to happen. They decided to fight back! Todd was one of the people who bravely tried to take control of the airplane from the hijackers. It was like a big, scary challenge they had to face together.

While all this was happening, Todd made a very important phone call. He talked to a special person named Lisa, who worked for the airline. He told her what was going on and that he and the other passengers were going to try and stop the hijackers. He even said the famous words, 'Let's roll!' This showed how determined he was to be brave and help others. It was a very important message.

Even though the plane crashed, Todd and the other passengers were heroes. Because they fought back, they stopped the hijackers from reaching their terrible goal. This saved many other people who would have been in danger. Todd Beamer is remembered for his courage and for being a hero who stood up for what was right, even when things were very scary. He showed us all what bravery looks like.
