The Russian Provisional Government: A Government on Pause!

This special government wasn't in a single city like a normal country. It was in charge of a HUGE place called the Russian Empire. Think of Russia as a giant playground that stretches across so much land, it's like having playgrounds in many different countries all at once!

It was a land of cold winters and vast forests, with big rivers and snowy plains. The main city where important decisions were made was Petrograd, which is now called Saint Petersburg.

This government was like a temporary sign-up sheet for a club. It was created in 1917 when the leader of Russia, the Tsar, decided to step down. The plan was for this temporary government to get things ready for a new, permanent government to be chosen by the people.

But, just like a game of musical chairs, things changed quickly! This government only lasted for about eight months before a new group took over.

The leaders of this temporary government were like the captains of a ship that was sailing through a storm. First, a man named Prince Georgy Lvov was in charge. Then, another man named Alexander Kerensky took over.

They had a very tricky job because they had to figure out how Russia should be run, and if it should still have a Tsar or not. It was a time of a lot of big questions and changes for everyone in Russia.

The main job of this government was to organize a big election. They wanted everyone to vote for people who would then decide the future of Russia. They also had to deal with a big war that was happening.

It was a very busy and confusing time, like trying to do your homework, play with friends, and help clean the house all at the same time! Eventually, another group called the Bolsheviks took power, and this temporary government was gone.
