A Big Change in Russia!

Once upon a time, in a country called Russia, things were not going so well for many people. They felt their leaders weren't listening. So, a group called the Bolsheviks, led by a man named Vladimir Lenin, decided it was time for a big change!

They wanted to make Russia a place where workers and regular people had more power. This big event is called the October Revolution. It was like a giant shake-up that changed how Russia was run.

How the Big Change Happened

The Bolsheviks were very organized. They told lots of soldiers and workers that they needed to stand up for themselves. On a special day, which was November 7th in our calendar (but October 25th on their old calendar!), the Bolsheviks took action.

They marched and took over important buildings in the capital city, Petrograd. It was like a surprise takeover, and surprisingly, it didn't involve a lot of fighting at first!

Why It Was a Big Deal

This revolution was super important because it led to a whole new way of thinking about how countries should be run. The Bolsheviks wanted everyone to share things and work together. This idea spread to other places too! It was like a spark that lit up new ideas around the world. It also started a big fight called a civil war in Russia, which lasted for a few years.

What Happened Next?

After the revolution, Russia became a very different place. The Bolsheviks created a new country called the Soviet Union. They celebrated the October Revolution every year as a special holiday. Even today, some people remember this event because it showed how ordinary people could try to change their country, even if it meant a lot of struggle and change.
