Fun Fact
The revolution started with protests about bread shortages.

When Everyone Said 'Enough!'

Once upon a time in Russia, there was a king called the Tsar. But people weren't happy. They didn't have enough food, especially bread, and they were tired of the king's rules. So, in February, lots of people, especially women who were trying to get food, went out into the streets to protest. It was like a giant, noisy schoolyard protest, but much bigger and more serious!

The King's Soldiers Join the Fun?

The protests got bigger and bigger! People were shouting and marching. The king sent soldiers to stop them, but guess what? The soldiers started to agree with the people! Instead of stopping the protests, many soldiers joined in. Imagine your teacher's pet suddenly joining the kids who are playing tag instead of telling them to stop. This made it super hard for the king to stay in charge.

A New Team Takes Over!

With the soldiers on the people's side, the king couldn't do much. He was stuck on his train, and his own government told him he had to give up being king. So, he did! A new group of people, called the Provisional Government, stepped in to run things. They promised to make things better, but it was a really tricky job, and not everyone was happy with them either.

Why We Remember This Day

This big event, the February Revolution, was super important because it meant the end of kings ruling Russia for hundreds of years! It showed that when people work together, they can make huge changes. Even though things didn't become perfect right away, it was the first big step towards a different kind of Russia.
