Russell M. Nelson

Russell M. Nelson was a very special person who did two amazing things. First, he was a brilliant doctor who fixed hearts!

He was so good, he even helped invent a machine that could keep a person's body working while doctors operated on their heart. That's like a superhero saving the day! He also became the leader of a big church, called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was like the captain of a big ship, guiding everyone.

Russell M. Nelson was born a long, long time ago, in 1924. He grew up in a city called Salt Lake City.

He went to school to become a doctor and learned all about the human body. He even worked with a team that did the very first open-heart surgery using a special machine. After being a doctor for many years, he started helping lead his church.

He was a leader for a really long time, even becoming the main leader, called the President, when he was already 93 years old! He lived to be 101, which is super old and amazing!

Russell M. Nelson was known as a prophet, which means people believed he could hear special messages from God. He was also a seer, meaning he could see things that others couldn't.

As the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he helped millions of people around the world. He taught them about kindness, love, and how to be good people. His work as a heart surgeon also helped save many lives, making him a hero both in and out of the church.

Did you know Russell M. Nelson was the oldest president of his church ever? He was 101 years old when he passed away!

That's older than your grandparents' grandparents! He also served in the army during a war called the Korean War. Even though he was a busy doctor and a church leader, he always had time to help others.

He showed everyone that you can do many different things in your life and make a big difference.
