It's the main and oldest part of a whole family of University of Minnesota schools across the state.

This university started a very, very long time ago, even before Minnesota became a state! The people who planned it back in 1851 had a big dream. Over the years, it grew and grew, adding more buildings and more students. It’s like a tiny seed that grew into a giant tree, with branches reaching out to teach and discover new things. It's been around for more than 170 years!
