Rosa Parks: A Brave Spark

Imagine a kind and quiet woman named Rosa Parks. She lived in a time when things weren't fair for everyone. Rosa was a seamstress, which means she sewed clothes. She was also a member of a group that wanted everyone to be treated equally. Even though she was often tired after a long day, she always had a strong spirit and believed in fairness for all people, no matter their skin color.

One day, Rosa was riding a bus home. In her town, Black people had to sit in the back and give up their seats to white people if the bus got full. On this day, the white section was full, and the bus driver told Rosa and other Black passengers to move.

But Rosa decided she had had enough. She stayed in her seat, even when asked to move again. This brave act was like a tiny spark that lit a big fire for change!

Because Rosa Parks was so brave, many people in her community decided to stop riding the buses. They walked, carpooled, or found other ways to get around. This was called the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

It lasted for over a year! People were tired of being treated unfairly, and Rosa's courage inspired them to join together and demand equal rights. It showed that one person's bravery can make a huge difference.

Rosa Parks' courageous act on that bus helped start the Civil Rights Movement. This movement worked to end unfair laws and make sure everyone in America was treated with respect. Rosa became a hero for many people.

She continued to work for justice her whole life. Her story teaches us that even when you feel small, your voice and your actions can be incredibly powerful and lead to important changes in the world.
