Where Was This China?

This Republic of China was a big place in Asia, mostly in what we call China today. It had tall mountains, wide rivers like the Yangtze, and even deserts! Think of it like a giant playground with lots of different areas to explore!

A New Beginning!

Before 1912, China was ruled by emperors for a very long time. But then, people wanted a new way to run the country, like a president and a government. So, they started the Republic of China! Who Lived There?

Lots and lots of people lived in the Republic of China! Most people were farmers, growing rice and other yummy foods. They had special traditions and celebrated holidays with colorful decorations and delicious meals. People spoke many different languages and dialects, but Mandarin Chinese was very important. It was a vibrant place with a rich culture that had been around for thousands of years.

What Did People Do?

Many people in the Republic of China worked hard on farms, growing food for everyone. Others worked in growing cities, making things like silk and pottery. They traded these goods with other places. It was a time when new ideas about business and making things were starting to pop up, like new toys being invented!
