Qinghai

Qinghai is a HUGE place in China, like a giant puzzle piece! It's the biggest land area in China, but not many people live there. Think of a giant playground with only a few kids playing! Its capital city is called Xining. This big land is named after Qinghai Lake, which is the biggest lake in all of China. It's like the biggest bathtub you can imagine!

The name 'Qinghai' comes from a special lake called Qinghai Lake. In another language, Tibetan, it's called 'Tso ngon,' and in a language called Mongolian, it's 'Kokonor.' These names are super old and have been used for a very long time to talk about this special place. So, the whole big land got its name from this giant, beautiful lake!

Lots of different people call Qinghai home! There are Han people, Tibetan people, Hui people, and Mongolian people, plus many more. It's like a big party where everyone is invited! Many people live in the city of Xining, but others live in the mountains and by the lake. It's a place where many cultures come together.

Most of Qinghai is on something called the Tibetan Plateau. Imagine a giant, flat-topped mountain that stretches for miles and miles! It's very high up, like being on top of a tall building. This high land is home to amazing animals and beautiful scenery. It's a wild and wonderful place!
