Who Was This Mighty Qalawun?

Qalawun was a very important leader, like a king, who ruled a place called Egypt a super long time ago, way back in the 1200s! He was so strong and successful that people called him 'the Victorious King'. He was so powerful that he started his own royal family, called the Qalawunid dynasty, and they ruled Egypt for over 100 years!

Qalawun's Big Adventures!

Qalawun was a brave warrior! He fought against people called Crusaders who were trying to take over his land. He was so good at fighting that he won back important places, like the city of Tripoli. He even fought a big battle near a city called Acre, which was like a giant castle for the Crusaders. Even though he won many battles, his son got to finish taking over Acre after Qalawun passed away.

Qalawun didn't just fight battles; he was also a builder! He built amazing buildings that are still around today. One of his most famous buildings is a hospital and a school all in one!
