Puntland

Imagine a big horn shape sticking out of Africa! That's where Puntland is, in the northeastern part of Somalia. It has a super long coastline along the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden. This means lots of beaches and sea breezes! The land can be dry and hilly, like a giant sandbox with some rocky bumps. It's a sunny place, so people wear light clothes to stay cool.

People have lived in this area for thousands of years! Long ago, it was known as the Land of Punt, a place famous for its treasures like incense and gold. Sailors would travel from far away to trade here. Over time, different groups of people called this place home, building villages and towns. It has seen many changes, but the spirit of its people has always stayed strong, like a sturdy tree.

The people of Puntland are called Somalis, and they speak Somali and Arabic. They love to share stories, sing songs, and celebrate special holidays together. Many families live in towns and cities, but some still live a nomadic life, moving with their animals to find fresh grass and water.

Their traditions are passed down from parents to children, keeping their culture alive and colorful, like a beautiful mosaic.

Many people in Puntland work with animals, like goats and sheep, which are very important. They also fish in the big ocean! Some people work in towns, running shops or helping to build things.
