Meet the Dino Superstars!

Imagine creatures bigger than a school bus or as tall as a house! That was the world of dinosaurs. They lived a super long time ago, from about 245 million years ago to 66 million years ago. Some were speedy runners, while others were slow and steady giants. They came in all shapes and sizes, from tiny bird-like dinosaurs to enormous long-necked plant-eaters.

Where Did They Roam?

Dinosaurs lived all over our planet! They stomped through hot, steamy jungles, vast, dry deserts, and even chilly, icy lands. Scientists find their fossils, which are like ancient bones turned to stone, everywhere. This tells us they were global travelers, adapting to many different places on Earth long before humans were around.

What Was on Their Menu?

Just like animals today, dinosaurs had different diets. Some, like the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, were carnivores, meaning they ate meat. Others, like the gentle Brachiosaurus, were herbivores, munching on plants and leaves all day long. And some, like the Oviraptor, were omnivores, eating both plants and small animals. Yum or yuck?

Why Did They Disappear?

One day, a giant space rock, an asteroid, crashed into Earth! This caused huge changes, like giant dust clouds blocking the sun and making the planet cold. Most dinosaurs couldn't survive these tough conditions and sadly, they all disappeared. But, scientists think that birds are actually modern-day dinosaurs!
