Fun Fact
The Parliament building is so big, it has over 4,500 rooms!

Where the Big Decisions Happen!

The Parliament of Australia is like the country's brain! It's a special building where people called politicians meet to talk about rules and laws for everyone in Australia. Think of it like your classroom, but instead of learning ABCs, they're deciding on things like parks, schools, and even what kind of toys are safe! It's a very important job to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Two Houses, One Big Job!

Inside the Parliament building, there are two main rooms, like two different teams. One is called the House of Representatives, and the other is the Senate. The House of Representatives is where the team that has the most votes gets to be in charge and make decisions.

The Senate is like a place where everyone gets a say, even smaller teams, to make sure all ideas are heard before a final decision is made.

Who Gets to Be a Politician?

People vote for politicians they like, kind of like voting for class president! The politicians who get the most votes get to go to Parliament. They have to be good at talking and listening to lots of different people. They wear suits and ties and spend their days discussing important topics to help make Australia a great place to live for everyone.

Making Australia Awesome!

The Parliament's main job is to make laws that help everyone. They talk about things like building new roads, protecting animals, and making sure everyone has a good education. It’s a big responsibility, and they have to work together, even if they don’t always agree, to make the best choices for the country. It’s all about teamwork for Australia!
