Moses: The Great Leader

Imagine a super important person from a long, long time ago! That's Moses. He was a leader for the Israelites, a group of people who were treated unfairly. Moses was chosen to help them find freedom. He's famous for leading them out of Egypt, a land where they were enslaved. It was a huge journey, like a really, really long field trip, but way more important!

When Moses was a baby, he was hidden in a basket to stay safe. Later, he grew up and heard a special message from God through a burning bush! This bush was on fire but didn't burn up. It was like magic! God told Moses to go tell the king of Egypt to let his people go. The king said no, so lots of amazing things happened, like plagues, until the king finally agreed.

The most famous thing Moses did was lead his people across the Red Sea. The Egyptian army was chasing them, and they were scared! But Moses, with God's help, held out his staff, and the water split into two giant walls! The Israelites walked through on dry land. Can you imagine walking between two walls of water? It was taller than a skyscraper!

After crossing the sea, Moses led the Israelites through a big, sandy desert for 40 years. It was a tough journey, and they sometimes got hungry or thirsty. Moses helped them by asking God for food, like manna, which was like tiny, sweet bread from the sky, and for water from a rock. He also got the Ten Commandments, which are important rules for living a good life.
