Where is Massachusetts?
Imagine a state shaped like a puzzle piece on the east coast of America! Massachusetts is bordered by the big, blue Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Maine. To its south are Connecticut and Rhode Island, and to its north are New Hampshire and Vermont. To the west, it touches New York. It's not a giant state, but it's full of exciting places and things to see, from sandy beaches to busy cities!
A Blast from the Past!
Long, long ago, brave people called Pilgrims sailed across the ocean and landed here in 1620. They started a place called Plymouth Colony. Later, other people came and built towns like Boston and Salem. This is where the big fight for America's freedom, the American Revolution, really got started! Boston is even called the 'Cradle of Liberty' because so much important history happened there.

Massachusetts is super smart! It has some of the oldest and best schools in the whole country, like Harvard and MIT. Kids in Massachusetts do really well in school, and lots of grown-ups have gone to college. This means lots of people work in cool jobs like science and technology, making new inventions and helping people learn.
