Maker Faire: Where Cool Stuff Happens!

This whole Maker Faire idea started back in 2006. A magazine called Make magazine wanted to bring together all the clever people who loved building and inventing. They thought it would be great for these 'makers' to share their projects and ideas with each other and with everyone else.

So, they organized the very first Maker Faire, and it was such a big hit that it’s happened many times since then, all over the world!

Maker Faires are important because they show us that anyone can be an inventor! You don't need to be a grown-up or have a special lab. People at Maker Faires build all sorts of things, from simple crafts to super-complicated robots.
