A big airplane carrying lots of people was flying from Sydney, Australia, to Los Angeles, America. But oops! It crashed!

The survivors found themselves on a strange, beautiful island in the middle of the big blue ocean. This island wasn't on any maps and had weird things happening, like strange noises and mysterious smoke. It was like a giant puzzle they had to solve just to survive and maybe find a way home.

The show is like a super exciting mystery. Every episode, you see what the people are doing on the island, trying to build a camp and stay safe. But then, BAM!

You jump back in time to see what happened in their lives before the crash. It's like peeking into their diaries to understand why they are the way they are. These 'flashbacks' help you figure out who is good, who is bad, and what secrets they might be hiding.

They filmed it on a real island called Oahu in Hawaii, which is super pretty but also costly. Because so many people were in the show and they filmed outside a lot, it became one of the most expensive TV shows ever made!
