Where is This Cool Place?
Imagine a special park called Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. That's where the Lincoln Tomb stands tall! It's like a giant stone house built just for President Abraham Lincoln and his family.
It's a place where people can visit and remember him. The tomb is made of strong granite, which is a type of rock that’s super tough. It has stairs leading up to a special spot where you can look around.
A Tall, Tall Tower!
The most amazing part of the Lincoln Tomb is a super tall tower called an obelisk. It reaches up 117 feet high! That's taller than a 10-story building, or even a very tall giraffe! At the bottom of the tower, there are cool bronze statues of President Lincoln. One big statue is a copy of his head, and it’s almost as big as a small car! It’s like a giant sculpture garden just for Lincoln.
Inside the Resting Place
When you go inside the Lincoln Tomb, you'll see beautiful marble everywhere. There are hallways that lead to the room where President Lincoln and his family are resting. In the main room, called a rotunda, you can see more bronze statues of Lincoln.
There's also a special monument made of red marble in the crypt, with a pretty stained glass window and flags. It’s a very peaceful and important place.

The Lincoln Tomb is a very important place because it’s where Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, is buried. He was a very important leader who helped our country. People built this special tomb to honor him and his family. It’s so important that it was one of the first places in the whole country to be called a National Historic Landmark.
