Splashy Land of Water!

Lagos State is like a giant puzzle made of land and water! Almost a quarter of it is covered in cool lagoons, creeks, and rivers. Think of it like having a giant water park right in your backyard! The biggest water spots are called Lagos Lagoon and Lekki Lagoon. Lots of rivers flow into them, and people use these waterways like busy roads to travel and carry things. It's a watery wonderland!

Tiny but Mighty!

Even though Lagos State is the smallest state in Nigeria, it's packed with the most people! It's like having a whole classroom of friends trying to fit into a tiny playhouse. It sits right by the big ocean called the Bight of Benin and also touches another country called Benin. It's a very special spot because it only has one neighbor state, Ogun State, to share a border with.

Home to Awesome Animals!

If you love animals, Lagos State has some cool ones! In the forests, you might find monkeys swinging from trees, shy pangolins (they look like they're wearing armor!), and even hooded vultures flying high. Sometimes, if you're super lucky, you might see African forest elephants! In the water, there are lots of fish, gentle manatees that look like sea cows, and even crocodiles!

A Place for Everyone!

People from all over the world have come to live in Lagos State. Many people speak Yoruba, but you can hear lots of different languages. It's a place where people celebrate many different holidays and traditions. It's also a super busy place for jobs and learning, with lots of schools and exciting things happening all the time. It's a vibrant and lively place!
