John Kenneth Galbraith, or Ken for short, was a very clever man born in Canada a long, long time ago. He was like a superhero for economics, which is all about how people make, buy, and sell things. He wrote so many books that became bestsellers, meaning lots and lots of people wanted to read them!
He was also a professor at a famous university called Harvard for 50 years, teaching students all about money and how the world works.
Helping Out During Tough Times
During a big war, when things were scarce and prices were going up super fast, Ken was in charge of making sure prices for food and rent stayed fair for everyone. It was like being a referee for prices! He did such a good job that it helped the country a lot.
He also worked with presidents, giving them advice and helping them make important decisions. He was like a trusted friend who always had smart ideas.

Ken wrote over 60 books and tons of articles! His books explained big ideas about money and business in ways that regular people could understand. Ken Galbraith was so good at what he did that he received two very special awards for his work helping the country. One was called the Medal of Freedom, and he got it again years later as the Presidential Medal of Freedom! He was known for being very smart, a great writer, and someone who wasn't afraid to share his opinions.
He even worked as an ambassador, which is like being a country's special representative in another country!
