The World Took a Deep Breath!

After a super big fight called World War I ended in 1918, the world got a long break. This break lasted for almost 21 years, until another big fight started in 1939. It was like the time between the end of recess and the start of the next class. During this time, lots of new things happened, like amazing inventions and some tricky problems for grown-ups.

Zooming Around and Listening In!

This break was a time of exciting new inventions! People started using cars a lot more, making travel faster. Lights in homes turned electric, making nights brighter than ever. And guess what? Radios became popular, letting people hear music and stories from far away. It was like getting a brand new video game console and everyone wanted to play!

Uh Oh, Money Troubles!

But not everything was fun and games. After the happy, busy years, a really big problem called the Great Depression happened. It was like if everyone's allowance suddenly disappeared! Many countries had very little money, and it made life hard for lots of people. This made some countries feel angry and worried.

New Rules and New Leaders

During this break, some old empires, like giant kingdoms, broke apart. New countries were born, like Poland and Finland! But in some places, new kinds of leaders came to power. Some leaders wanted everyone to share everything, and others wanted one strong leader to make all the rules. This caused a lot of confusion and worry around the world.
