Hurra-yi Khuttali

Imagine a princess named Hurra-yi Khuttali! She lived a super long time ago, between 1006 and 1040. She wasn't just any princess; she was the daughter of a king named Sabuktigin. Hurra-yi got married not once, but twice! Her first husband was a ruler named Abu al-Hasan Ali, and then after he passed away, she married his brother, Maʽmun II. When her brother, Mahmud, died, there was a big question about who would be the next king. Hurra-yi wrote a very important letter to her favorite nephew, Masʽud. She told him he should be king! After being a wise advisor and helping choose kings, Hurra-yi left her home in Ghazna and traveled to a place called India. That was in the year 1040.
