Harran

Harran is a special place in a country called Turkey, far away in the southeast. It's not too far from the country of Syria, like a short car ride! The land around Harran is mostly flat and dry, like a big, sunny playground. It gets pretty warm there, especially when the sun is high in the sky. Think of it as a sunny spot where ancient stories happened.

Harran is super, super old! It was built a very, very long time ago, even before the time of kings and queens you read about in fairy tales. People think it started as a place for traders to meet and share their goods. Over time, it became a big, important city where people learned and worshipped. It was even a capital city, which is like the main boss city of a whole area!

Long ago, people in Harran loved to worship a moon god named Sin. They even built a special temple for him! What's really cool is that Harran is famous for its unique houses that look like beehives. These round, pointy houses are still built today, just like they were thousands of years ago. It's like stepping back in time when you see them!

Harran wasn't just old, it was also smart! It had one of the first universities ever, where people went to learn all sorts of things. There's also a very old mosque, which is a special building for prayer. Even though it was destroyed a long time ago, people are rebuilding and visiting Harran today to see its amazing history and unique houses. It's a place full of stories!
