Giza Governorate: Land of Wonders!
Key Facts
Where is Giza?
Giza is a super special place in Egypt, a country far away! It's mostly on one side of a big, long river called the Nile. Think of the Nile like a giant blue ribbon flowing through the land. Giza is right across the river from another big city called Cairo. It's like having two amazing neighborhoods next to each other!
Home of the Pyramids!
Giza is famous for the most amazing buildings ever: the Pyramids! These giant stone triangles are older than your grandparents, and even older than their grandparents! They are so tall, they are like super-tall buildings made of stone. Next to them is the Great Sphinx, a statue with a lion's body and a human head. It's like a giant, ancient guardian!
A Big, Big Desert!
Guess what? Giza also has a HUGE desert! It's called the Western Desert, and it's so big, it stretches on and on. Inside this desert are special green spots called oases, where water bubbles up from the ground. It's like finding a secret garden in the middle of all that sand. Imagine playing hide-and-seek in a desert that big!
People and What They Do
Lots of people live in Giza! They speak Arabic, just like in many other parts of Egypt. People in Giza work in many different jobs. Some help run the busy city, while others might work on farms near the Nile River. And of course, many people work to show visitors the amazing pyramids and Sphinx!
