Khufu

Imagine a super-important king from a long, long time ago, called Khufu! He lived in ancient Egypt, way before your grandparents were even born. Khufu was the second king of his family to rule, taking over from his dad. He's most famous for ordering the building of a truly humongous structure that still stands today. It's like the king of all buildings!

Khufu's most famous building is the Great Pyramid of Giza. It's so big, it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World – that means it was considered one of the most incredible things ever built! Think of it as a giant triangle reaching for the sky. Building it took a LOT of people and a LOT of time, but Khufu wanted something amazing to be remembered by.

It's tricky to know exactly what Khufu looked like because most of his statues and pictures are broken. But, archaeologists found a tiny, special statue made of ivory! It's the only one that's still whole. This little statue gives us a peek at the king. Imagine finding a tiny toy that belonged to a king from thousands of years ago!

Even though Khufu built something so grand, stories about him are a bit mixed. Some old writers said he was a grumpy king, while others remembered him for his amazing building projects. It's like having two different stories about the same person! But everyone agrees, the Great Pyramid is his incredible, lasting gift to the world.
