Georgetown University is in a very special city called Washington, D.C. It's like the capital of the whole country! The school sits on a hill overlooking a big river called the Potomac. From the top, you can see lots of amazing buildings. One famous building on campus looks like a castle and is called Healy Hall. It's so old and important, it's like a treasure!

This university is super, super old! It was started in 1789, which is even before your grandparents' grandparents were born! It's the very first Catholic school for grown-ups in America and the first university in Washington, D.C. Think of it like the first big kid on the playground that everyone else followed. It has been teaching people for more than 200 years!

Lots of very important and smart people went to Georgetown. Some of them became presidents, judges, and even leaders of other countries! It's like a training ground for future leaders. Many students come from all over the world, like from more than 135 different countries. They all come to learn and share ideas.

Georgetown University is a place for learning all sorts of things. It has many different schools inside it, like a big building with many classrooms. Students can study almost anything they can imagine, from science to history to art. They have about 7,500 students who are just starting their college journey and another 10,000 who are studying even more advanced things.
