Future Days (The Last of Us)

Imagine a world after something big happened, like a giant storm! That's kind of like the world in The Last of Us. "Future Days" is the very first episode of the second season, and it's like opening a new chapter in a super exciting book. It starts five whole years after the first story ended.

That's a long time, like from kindergarten all the way to fourth grade! Our heroes, Joel and Ellie, are living in a safe place called Jackson, Wyoming. It's a town with Joel's brother, Tommy, and Ellie's friends, Dina and Jesse.

The people who made this show are like super builders! They found a beautiful spot in a place called British Columbia, which is far away in Canada. They even built the whole town of Jackson on a special piece of land.

It's like building a giant LEGO city on your living room floor! Filming happened in February and March of 2024. That's when winter is still around, so it might have been a bit chilly for the actors while they were pretending to live in this new world.

In "Future Days," we get to meet some new characters who are super important! There's Dina, who is Ellie's friend, and Jesse. We also meet Abby, who is a new person in their lives. The writers changed some things from the video game to make the TV show even better. It's like when you draw a picture and decide to add a new color or a funny shape to make it your own special creation!

When "Future Days" first came out, lots and lots of people watched it! Over 5 million people tuned in on the very first day. That's more people than can fit in a huge stadium!

The people who watch TV shows for a living, called critics, thought it was a fantastic start to the new season. They loved how it looked, how it was filmed, and how the actors did such a great job. One of the actors, Catherine O'Hara, was even nominated for a special award!
