The Epic of Gilgamesh: A Story from Long Ago!

Imagine a king who was two-thirds god and one-third human! That was Gilgamesh, the king of Uruk, a city built with amazing walls. He was super strong and brave, but sometimes he was a bit too bossy! He loved adventures and was always looking for fame. He was so famous that people still tell his story thousands of years later. He was like the most popular kid in school, but way, way older!

Gilgamesh was so powerful, he needed a friend who was just as awesome. So, the gods sent Enkidu, a wild man who lived with animals and was as strong as Gilgamesh! Enkidu was covered in hair and ate grass.

But when he met Gilgamesh, they had a huge fight! After their battle, they became the bestest friends ever. They went on amazing quests together, like fighting monsters and exploring faraway places.

One of the most exciting parts of Gilgamesh's story is about a giant flood! The gods decided to send a huge flood to wash away everyone. But one wise man, Utnapishtim, was told to build a giant boat to save his family and animals. This sounds a lot like the story of Noah's Ark, doesn't it? It shows that people have been telling stories about big floods for a very, very long time.

The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest stories ever written down, older than the pyramids! It's like finding a really old toy that's still fun to play with.
